How I Influenced My Wife To Help Senators, Others – Appeal Court President’s Husband, Senator Bulkachuwa (Video)

A troubling video has emerged of Senator Adamu Muhammad Bulkachuwa, the incumbent senator for Bauchi North senatorial district, gloating about how he influenced the choice of his wife, retired Justice of the Appeal Court Zainab Bulkachuwa.

Bulkachuwa stepped down from the bench after reaching the compulsory retirement age of 70 years for Appeal Court justices in 2020.

According to the footage obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, the statement was made at the Senate’s valedictory session.

“Particularly my wife, whose freedom and independence I encroached upon when she was in office, and she has been very tolerant and accepted my encroachment and extended her help to my colleagues,” Bulkachuwa said in the video before he was interrupted by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan.

Lawan was disturbed by the statement and informed him, “I don’t think this is a good idea going in this direction.”

On Monday, Professor Ndubuisi Ekekwe, who published the video on his verified Twitter profile, said, “We must give Senator Bulkachuwa a national award as a whistleblower of the month.”

Ekekwe went on to say that he hoped retired Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa would issue a press release explaining how she was swayed.

He wrote: “Unbelievable that a senator whose wife was the president of the court of appeal could brag how he influenced her decisions. He embarrassed the Senate president by revealing the open truth about Nigeria’s judiciary. We must give Senator Bulkachuwa a national award as a whistleblower of the month. Hope retired Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa will give a press release on how she was influenced! What a nation.”
