NNPP’s Falgore Emerges Kano Assembly Speaker

Jibrin Ismail Falgore, a member-elect from the Rogo state constituency, has been elected speaker of the Kano state House of Assembly.

Falgore, a member of the ruling New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP), was nominated by Lawal Hussaini (Dala/NNPP), and his nomination was supported by Musa Ali Kachako (Takai), a member-elect of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC). Falgore won the election without facing any opposition.
Similarly, member-elect Muhammad Bello Butubutu of the ruling NNPP from the Rimingado/Tofa state seat won the position of deputy speaker without opposition.

He was nominated by Zubairu Hamza Masu (Sumaila/NNPP) and his nomination was seconded by a member of the opposition party (APC) from Gwarzo state assembly constituency.

ANAEDOONLINE reports that the NNPP has the majority of the state assembly with 26 members-elect while the APC has 14 members-elect, making up 40 members for the assembly.
