President Bola Ahmed Tinubu accepted DIG Kayode Egbetokun’s nomination as the new Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP) on Monday.
According to news reports, his appointment was announced in a statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

The dynamic Acting Inspector-General of Police studied Bsc (ed) Mathematics at the University of Lagos and possesses a master’s degree in Engineering Analysis, a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Petroleum Economics from Delta State University, and an MBA from Lagos State University.
Acting IG Egbetokun has held several sensitive positions within the Force, including Commander Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Lagos from 2005 to 2007, Squadron Commander 5 PMF Benin, Benin City, OC Anti Fraud FCT Command, CSP “A” Lagos State Command, Area Commander Oshogbo, Osun State, Area Commander Gusau Zamfara State, Commandant Police Training School, Ikeja, Lagos, Deputy Commandant, Police College, Ikeja, He was Falomo Lagos’s CP (Admin) Medical. He has also taken a number of courses both locally and internationally.
