The mother of five claimed that she first became aware of her husband’s alcohol use sometime in 2015.

“I tried to convince him to stop drinking, but it didn’t work. He became intoxicated on the day of the naming ceremony when I gave birth to my last child on June 20, 2022, and he caused a scene in front of all his in-laws and relatives, she added.

She said that after the incident, she left her husband’s house for her parents for 10 months with her children.

“During that period, my husband never visited to check on the well-being of my children,” she said.
Umar prayed to the court to dissolve the marriage on the grounds of lack of love and interest.

Abubakar did not respond well to the allegations from the wife because he was under the influence of alcohol.

The Judge, Malam Abdullahi Abdulkarim, cautioned the defendant who was talking carelessly in the court

Abdulkarim adjourned the matter until June 23 to give the defendant room to reply because he was drunk.
