The meeting comes in the aftermath of the controversy over the demolition of the Alaba International Market in the state’s Ojo Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, former Education Minister Obiageli Ezekwesili has spoken out in response to the ongoing demolition of several poor buildings at Alaba International Market.

Remember that demolition of the designated structures began on Saturday, June 17.

As early as 2016, the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has designated at least 17 buildings for demolition.

The demolition, however, has generated a response from dealers, who claim that the exercise is politically motivated.

Ezekwesili responded to the incident on Twitter, calling for transparency.

She encouraged Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to provide information on each demolished property and why it was demolished.

Ezekwesili claimed that this action would demonstrate to the public that the exercise was not intended to target Igbos.
