Driver Hospitalised, Seven Escape Death In Lagos Crash

On Wednesday, seven people narrowly avoided death when a Lexus RX 350 crashed into a stopped truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

After the accident, which happened at around 1pm, emergency personnel swarmed the site and hurried a driver who has not yet been recognized to the hospital for quick treatment.

ANAEDOONLINE According to Metro, the Lexus driver crashed into the stopped truck at the Otedola end of the motorway at 1pm.

Babatunde Farinloye, the sector commander for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Lagos State, claimed that speeding was to blame for the collision, which involved seven people.

He said, “The stationary vehicle developed a mechanical fault. The car that was coming rammed into the vehicle from the rear. It was a case of speeding and impatience.
“Seven people were involved. Five adults and two children, only the driver was injured, no death, but the vehicle was badly damaged. We sent an ambulance there and they were able to get the victim to the hospital.”

In the video obtained by our correspondent, a combined team comprising officials of the FRSC and officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority were seen making efforts to remove the vehicles from the road as the Lexus vehicle was stuck under the truck.
