2023 General Elections: Labour Party Blasts FG For Rejecting EU’s Report

The federal administration has been chastised by the Labour Party for undermining the European Union’s decision on the 2023 General Election.

The EU stated in its final assessment and report on the 2023 general elections that there were some irregularities in the previous elections.

The EU observers emphasized that the general election harmed trust in the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

In response, the federal government described the Electoral Observer Mission’s findings as “jaundiced” in a statement issued on Sunday by Dele Alake, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Special Duties.

The FG rejected the EU’s election statement, requesting that they be “objective in all their assessments of internal affairs.”

However, the Labour Party, which is now contesting the election results in court, claimed the FG’s decision to reject the EU findings was “medicine after death.”

According to Obiora Ifoh, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, the LP “stands by the position of the EU observation mission,” emphasizing that the party has “always said that this election was massively rigged in favor of the APC and their candidate.”

“We are only hoping that the judiciary will dispense justice without fear or favour in the interest of the nation and posterity.

“Nigerians already know the true winner of the 2023 presidential election and no amount of slandering, denial, or rebuttal can change the fact that the party in power has no mandate of the electorate”, the statement added.
