According to ANAEDOONLINE Sports Extra, Brighton & Hove Albion of the English Premier League are reportedly interested in signing Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey from Ajax and are also keeping a watch on Bassey’s club teammate Mohammed Kudus.

Bassey was a target for the Seagulls last summer, but the Nigerian international chose to transfer to Amsterdam instead.

The Scottish Giants’ record sale occurred in the summer when the 23-year-old left Ibrox after the Gers and Ross Wilson reportedly agreed to a £23 million deal with Ajax.
Bassey’s time at Ajax hasn’t quite gone as planned, and the Premier League is reportedly interested in signing him.

Amid a season of big changes at the Amsterdam Arena, the Nigerian has often been the scapegoat for poor performances and stumbling league form, with Ajax ending the season in third position in the Dutch topflight.
It’s the first time since 2009 that the Dutch giants failed to finish in a Champions League qualification spot.

Despite the development, Bassey is high on Roberto De Zerbi’s list of transfer targets.
Bassey scored one goal and provided three assists in 39 appearances for the Dutch giants last season.

Brighton, who finished in sixth place in the Premier League last season, are also looking to sign Kudus.
The Ghanaian midfielder is currently valued at £40m after a superb season. The 22-year-old scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 42 appearances.
