Sit-at-home: Unknown Gunmen Flog Primary School Pupils In Enugu

A video has emerged online showing a bunch of unknown gunmen whipping primary school students and teachers in Enugu State.

Students who had come to write their Common Entrance Examination were observed sobbing and pleading with the mystery gang.

According to one of the unknown gunmen’s voices, the incident occurred in one of the primary schools in the state’s Enugu West senatorial constituency.

In the video, the outlawed group is caught telling the students, “Why did you people come out today that you know is sit-at-home?”

“I want everybody to obey the rules of Biafra. If they flog you today, you people will know that you don’t need to come out any day we have sit-at-home. You should not ever violate again the rules of government of Biafra.

“Any day they ask you to come out on the day of sit-at-home, tell them you won’t go to school because they have sit-at-home. That’s why we supposed to give you a little punishment.”

When asked what they have to say, one of the pupils, amid tears told them: “we will not come out again.”

According to news reports, Enugu residents were thrown into major tension and dread on Wednesday when unidentified gunmen moved throughout different parts of the state to enforce the one-week sit-in declared by the Simon Ekpa-led wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
