See What Bashir Ahmad Said About Vandalisation Of Second Niger Bridge

Bashir Ahmad, the former Special Assistant to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital Communications, has criticized the vandalism of the freshly inaugurated Second Niger Bridge.

Vandals stole certain road fittings from the N336 billion bridge months after former President Buhari commissioned it, along with seven other infrastructure projects, according to news reports.

An official from the Ministry of Works confirmed the theft to Punch on Wednesday, stating that the missing component was the expansion joint walkway from the bridge’s axis 330.

In a Twitter post on Thursday, Ahmad expressed his regret at the vandalism and theft of fittings from a part of the bridge.

The former presidential aide asserted that the vandalization of public infrastructure should attract severe consequences.

He wrote: “So disturbed by a story I read this morning in The Nation Newspaper about the vandalization and stealing of fittings from a section of the Second Niger Bridge—condemnable acts. The vandalization of public infrastructure should attract severe consequences.”
