Deke Akanse, a 19-year-old lady, vanished from her house on June 29, which has left her family in a state of fear.

According to Akanse’s father, Ajayi, his daughter left their home in Idiroko, Ogun State, while he was away.
He claimed that after making inquiries, he discovered that his daughter had been abducted by a neighbor who went by the name of Bidemi and claimed they were traveling to Magboro.

They later were successful in capturing Bidemi, who they dragged to the police station, according to Ajayi.

He said, “I was not around when she came to pick up my child. I am a farmer. I had gone to the farm. When I came back from the farm, I saw the door to my house locked up. My wife told me that one of our neighbours came to take my daughter out.

“We have been looking for our daughter since then. It was seven days ago that we caught Bidemi who came to pick up my daughter without my consent. We took her to the Idiroko Police Station.
“After her arrest, Bidemi told us that my daughter was taken away by a man who carried her from Agege to Berger after their transport fare got exhausted.”

Speaking, another family member, Oyekanmi Grace, told Report that Bidemi ran away after the incident, adding that she refused to show up even after several pleas.
Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the matter on Saturday, said Bidemi was an illegal agent and trafficker who had allegedly been giving out young girls as “maids to people in Lagos.”

While confirming that Bidemi was arrested, she said she was later released after she agreed to bring Akanse back to her family.
“It is not a case of kidnapping. Bidemi is an illegal agent and an uncertified trafficker. She engages in giving young adults out as maids to people in Lagos.

“She took the girl away without the consent of the family. She was arrested but was released after she had confirmed she knew the passenger and promised to bring her back to her family,” Odutola told Reporter
