Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, an Anambra-born witch doctor, has been released by his kidnappers.

According to news reports, the native doctor, who is well-known for flaunting his wealth on social media, was released early Saturday morning.

According to a source, friends and well-wishers have gathered in his enormous mansion to greet him.

“He was released very early this morning. He is currently celebrating with his friends and well wishers in his house in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.

“His abductors demanded for N300million before he could be released, and when his friends rallied round and raised the money, the abductors demanded for additional N50million, which was also delivered to them, before he was released this morning,” the source said.

Police authorities in Anambra confirmed the release of the native doctor.

Spokesperson for the command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga said: “Yes, he has been released this morning. We are waiting to debrief him, with a view to getting his experience and clue of who the abductors are, so that we can go after them.”

When questioned if he was aware that a ransom had been paid to his kidnappers in exchange for his release, Ikenga chose to remain silent.

The famed native doctor, Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, was kidnapped in his hotel six days ago.

Two of his personal security guards were killed, and the native doctor was kidnapped.

Many blamed his kidnapping on his extravagant lifestyle on social media, where he exhibits fancy cars, buildings, and jewels.

Others criticized him for being unable to save himself from kidnapping, despite his numerous boasts of his skills and the potency of his charms.

In 2022, Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki created and inaugurated two exotic hotels, including the Triple P Hotel, where he was kidnapped on sunday night.

He is said to be the richest native doctor in the Southeast.
