The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has set Tuesday, August 1, 2023, as the deadline for presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), respectively, to adopt their final addresses in their complaints against the 2023 election.
On various grounds, both Atiku and Obi are contesting the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) announcement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the victor of the February 25 presidential election.
The Tribunal’s hearing notice, which was placed on Atiku and Obi, stated that the adoption will take place by 9 a.m.

According to the hearing notice received by Newsmen, the identical documents were served on President Tinubu via his counsel, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, while those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were served on the party through its lead counsel, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN.
Anaedoonline.ng has learned that Atiku was served by his lead counsel, Chief Chris Uche, SAN, and Obi by Livy Uzuoku, SAN.
INEC was served with its own notice by its lawyer, Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud, SAN.
Fagbemi, the principal attorney for the APC, verified receipt of the hearing notification.
According to the court’s practice directive, a date for final judgment would be set promptly upon the adoption of final addresses.
