President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the provision of buses to all universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in the country.

According to a statement issued on Monday by Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, the measure was taken to support Tinubu’s objective to alleviate the burden of the elimination of gasoline subsidies on students attending higher education institutions.

The declaration comes amid organized labor’s insistence on holding a statewide demonstration on August 2.

He explained that the buses will go a long way toward relieving parents and guardians of the additional cost of everyday commuting.

According to the statement, President Tinubu has instructed the removal of all limits on the students’ loan in order to make it available to any student or household that desires it.

He stated that the new instruction was in keeping with his vow to ensure that no Nigerian student abandons his or her educational aspirations due to a lack of funds or their parents’ economic conditions.

Alake further stated that Tinubu has urged officials at all Federal Institutions of Higher Learning to prevent arbitrary increases in sundry fees payable and, where practicable, to postpone additional increases so that parents and students don’t face too many difficulties.

“The Federal Government salutes the courage, wisdom and partnership of Nigerian Students as our country navigates this challenging time.
