Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, has asked the Senate to match words with actions to ensure that the Federal Government takes prompt action in dealing with Finland-based Simon Ekpa.

The Senate has requested that the Federal Government approach the Finnish government in order to extradite Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, the jailed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, said in a statement made available to journalists on Monday that what Ekpa was doing in the South-East was criminal and should be treated as such.

He claimed Simon Ekpa had finally been revealed as a destabilizing agent in Igbo country.

Okwu said Ekpa’s rejection of a directive from IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to cease the sit-in was another clear proof that he was an enemy of Ndigbo.

Kanu warned Ekpa in a handwritten letter that the sit-at-home directive was causing more harm than good.

Ekpa, on the other hand, has stated that he will not accept such an order even if Kanu makes a video, and that he will only back down if the arrested IPOB leader meets with him in Finland.

In response, Okwu stated that Ekpa was prepared to take acts that would keep Kanu imprisoned indefinitely in order to continue the commercial empire he was running in the name of Biafra.

“We want to specifically thank the Senate for its resolution over the activities of Simon Ekpa who is being paid to destroy Igbo land.

“The decision of the Senate is long overdue. We applaud but ask that they should immediately match words with action. Simon Ekpa should be repatriated from Finland as quickly as possible.

“This is a matter of urgent importance; the Senate should prevail on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu government to, in collaboration with the Finnish government, commence repatriation proceedings against Simon Ekpa,” Okwu said.

He also praised Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah for all he has done so far to terminate the pointless sit-in.

The Ohanaeze Youths stated that all well-meaning Enugu State inhabitants should work together with the government to resolve the crisis.

He stated that it is not a political problem because it is concerned with recovering the state from criminals, thugs, and those making pounds and dollars in the name of fighting for Biafra.
