The Presidential Election Tribunal reserved decision on Tuesday in Abuja in the case of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Abubakar Atiku, seeking to overturn the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

While withholding decision, Tribunal Chairman Justice Simon Tsammani stated that the date of delivery would be communicated to the parties in the dispute.

The main petitioner, Atiku Abubakar, requested that the Tribunal give substantive justice to his petition rather than a technical judgment that could corrupt the course of justice.

The last address of Atiku was adopted by his lead counsel, Chief Chris Uche SAN.

Lateef Fagbemi SAN, counsel for the All Progressives Congress, APC, requested the Court to dismiss the arguments on the grounds that the alleged judgment was issued over 30 years ago.

President Tinubu, represented by legal luminary Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, requested that the suit be dismissed since Atiku and the PDP’s objections are directed at the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
