Tribunal Adjourns Judgment In Peter Obi’s Petition Against President Tinubu

The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has deferred decision on a challenge brought by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), seeking to overturn Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s declaration as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

Obi, who finished third in the election, and his party filed a joint petition in March disputing the outcome of the February 25 vote, asking the court to overturn Tinubu’s victory as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.

The petitioners claimed in their last written address dated July 20 that Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima were not entitled to run in the election.
