Four people were rescued alive after a helicopter crashed in front of a United Bank for Africa (UBA) branch in Lagos State’s Ikeja neighborhood.

Gboyega Akosile, the spokesman for Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stated in a statement on Tuesday that the four occupants of the plane were rescued alive.

Akosile revealed that the four casualties had been sent to the hospital for additional care and treatment.

He also stated that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Lagos Fire Service are on the scene.

He wrote: “The helicopter containing 4 persons including the pilot crash landed in front of the UBA branch in Ikeja.

“All four casualties have been retrieved from the aircraft alive. They have been transferred to the hospital for further care. LASEMA, Lagos Fire Service on the ground.”

The helicopter crash occurred around 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to news reports.

The operator of the helicopter is unknown, according to Ibrahim Farinloye, Acting South West Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

“There were two white men and two black men on board. Three craters on the spot created by impacts on the ground,” he said.
