UPDATE: Security Operatives Raid IPOB/ESN Camps In Anambra, Imo States

The Nigerian Army, Police, and other security agencies have raided the hideouts and training camps of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its militant arm, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Orsomoghu Forest, which spans Anambra and Imo States.

According to Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations, the operation was in response to a report on violent activities of the criminal group enforcing the illegal two-week sit-at-home order in Onitsha, Nnewi, and Iheme Obosi in Anambra State, and New Market in Enugu State.

Troops raided IPOB camps in Ekeututu, Orsomoghu, and Lilu, apprehending five fleeing members and recovering an IPOB flag, a CCTV camera, and two detonated IED bombs as well as a fabricated mortar tube during the raid.

The IED detonated by the crooks injured five troops and two police officers.

The Nigerian Army asks the people of the South East to continue providing intelligence to current operations and to defy the illegal two-week sit-at-home order.
