UPDATE: What Bola Tinubu Told Tribunal In Adoption Of Final Address

President Bola Tinubu has stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have failed to substantiate their appeal for the presidential election tribunal to overturn the results of the 2023 presidential election.

Tinubu, through his counsel, Wole Olanipekun (SAN), stated in a petition on Tuesday that the PDP and its presidential candidate failed to address the court on their score and how Atiku can be returned as the victor of the presidential election.

Olanipekun urged the tribunal to base its judgement on the provisions of the constitution and the election laws.

He contended that the FCT is one of the 37 states for the purpose of the presidential election, and that the legislation does not require any candidate to win in order to be declared the final winner of a presidential poll.

The lawyer also accused the PDP and its candidate of putting documents in front of the court and expecting the court to investigate.

Tinubu, through his lawyer, stated that presidential elections are not postponed for financial reasons, and he asked the court to dismiss the petition for lack of merit because the petitioner had abandoned their plea.

The Presidential Tribunal Has Adopted Atiku and the PDP’s Final Addresses Against Tinubu

The Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC) in Abuja has adopted the final written addresses of all parties in the appeal brought by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the February 25 election, Atiku Abubakar.

Presidential Tribunal: Court Reserves Judgment In Atiku’s Petition

This came after the adoption of the final written addresses of all parties concerned in the petition brought by Atiku and the PDP to overturn President Bola Ahned Tinubu’s electoral victory in the 2023 presidential election.

According to news reports, the petitioners are the PDP and Atiku, while the respondents are the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), President Tinubu, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
