Veteran Nigerian musician Charles Oputa, also known by his stage as Charly Boy, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for the quality of the candidates he has put forward for ministerial nominations.

The majority of the nominees, in his opinion, sound like crooks.

The performer questioned how a person could be born in 1980 and earn their secondary school diploma in 1989.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, a ministerial nominee named Prof. Joseph Utsev caused controversy in the Senate because of the age at which he completed secondary school.

His curriculum vitae states. Utsev was born in 1980, and in 1989, he completed his secondary education.

According to Prof. Utsev, he received the Department of Civil Engineering’s top student award at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi.

In 2009, he continued there and received a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) in Water Engineering.

Additionally, he was appointed as the first rector of the Benue State Polytechnic in 2020.

Charly Boy commented on the Utsev certificate scandal via his Twitter account, calling the candidates liars and criminals.
