The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), which together make up organized labor, are currently staging a large-scale demonstration in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Over 5,000 nonviolent demonstrators who came together at the Unity Fountain in Abuja, adjacent to the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, then marched on to the Federal Ministry of Justice before reaching the National Assembly.

Security guards at the National Assembly first blocked the protesters from entering the building, but after intervention from higher-up police, the gate was flung wide.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Labour has been keen about staging the protest to air its frustrations regarding the hardships that the majority of Nigerians have been through since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu proclaimed the fuel subsidy removal policy.
