On social media, a video of Peter Obi’s legal team giving thanks at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Maitama after winning the case at the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja has gone viral. Peter Obi is the presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the general elections of 2023.
With 8,794,726 votes, Tinubu was declared the winner of the election by INEC Chairman Yakubu Mahmood on March 1. Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the PDP and Labour party were reported to have received 6,984,520 and 6,101,533 votes, respectively.

In his case, Obi claimed that overvoting occurred in some areas of the South West but that 18,088 polling places were rigged against him in the presidential election.
The approval of the final written address by Obi, the All Progressives Congress, President Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima, and the legal counsel of the Independent National Electoral Commission was heard on August 1.
The LP candidate’s legal team presented their final oral defense before the PEPC, presided over by Justice Haruna Tsammani, adjourned for decision.
