Niger Coup: We’re Not Sending Corps Members To Fight War – NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps, or NYSC, has responded to social media rumours that claim there is a plot to send corps members to the Niger Republic for military intervention.

The NYSC’s response comes in response to a social media video that claimed corps members would be sent by the federal government to fight in a war for the country’s restoration of democracy.

According to a statement by Eddy Megwa, Director of Press and Public Relations, the plan wishes to emphasise that the news is completely false.

The purveyor, a comedy and content maker, must have created the tale on purpose to draw viewers to his platform, according to the strategy.

“The general public, especially corps members, prospective corps members and their parents, should disregard the story, which borders on criminality in its entirety,” it added.

“Content and skit makers are strongly advised to desist from spreading false information capable of subverting the peace of the nation.

“Law enforcement agencies will stop at nothing to bring the purveyors of the story to justice.”
