Doyin Okupe, a leader in the Labour Party, has come under fire online for endorsing President Bola Tinubu’s plan to invade the Niger Republic militarily.

According to earlier news reports, Okupe stated in a post on Twitter that Nigerians must not remain silent because of internal conflicts in response to Tinubu’s planned military action and other sanctions against the coup plotters in the Niger Republic.

He stated that Nigerians and political leaders must work together to defend the nation, regardless of who the president is.

Okupe’s plea for support for Tinubu has drawn criticism from some online users who are thought to be LP sympathisers.
