REVEALED: Read Details Of South East Governors’ Meeting In Enugu

The details of the Thursday meeting of the governors of the five South East States in Enugu State have been revealed.

Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State and the new forum chairman, read a statement that contained information on the meeting.

The statement states that the governors have decided to act with those who cause and support insecurity in the area both individually and collectively.

The declaration, which was delivered by Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State and the new chairman of the Forum, stated that the culprits and those who funded them were criminals and shouldn’t be considered to be lawful protesters.

It was also the first gathering since Uzodimma assumed the chairmanship of the forum, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

When those criminals were apprehended, according to Uzodimma, they would be dealt with in accordance with the law.

The meeting was attended by the governors of the five states, including Charles Soludo of Anambra, Alex Otti of Abia, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, and Peter Mbah of Enugu, who served as host governor.

“We wish to state categorically that the perpetrators of the insecurity in our region and their sponsors are criminals and should not be seen as legitimate agitators,” he said.

Uzodinma noted that the meeting decided to work with the federal government and other stakeholders to resolutely combat insecurity in the area.

Additionally, he praised the security agencies’ cooperation and urged them not to give up.

The group also decided to conduct a security and economic summit on a future date, according to the forum chairman.
