Chinwetalu Agu, a seasoned actor from Nigeria, recalled his dramatic arrest for donning a Biafran attire and the subsequent uproar.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, a video that showed several troops abusing the movie celebrity for donning Biafra clothing surfaced online in 2021.
However, the Nigerian army said in a statement that the actor was detained for soliciting support for IPOB, a group that has been outlawed.

Agu was allegedly instigating members of the public and enlisting their support for IPOB while wearing a very recognisable outfit from the outlawed organisation, according to the security agency.
Chinwetalu Agu stated the event happened while she was visiting Onitsha in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
The actor claimed that when several fans asked him for assistance while he was in Anambra State, he had gone to greet a few individuals.
Agu claimed that he made the decision to buy some bread for them despite being unaware of the growing gathering.
The actor continued by saying that an All Progressives Congress (APC) official who observed the throng mistook him for a PDP canvasser.

He said, “I finished a shoot in Asaba and came to Onitsha and wanted just to say hello to a few people, but they walled me out of hunger, serious hunger that I had to say, let me buy some loaves of bread, but as I was buying the population was increasing.
“I didn’t even know when the soldiers came until the way they did, It is not a thing you will find in a civilized country. What I heard from some people after the event was that an APC man was watching the crowd multiplying and was thinking that I was gathering votes for PDP.”
