UPDATE: Shehu Sani Warns Nigerians From Calling For Coup

Shehu Sani issues an incorrect warning as Nigeria allegedly cuts off electricity supply to the Niger Republic.

Shehu Sani, a former MP for Kaduna Central, has denounced demands for a coup to remove the current government.

Sani insisted that there was still hope for Nigeria’s democracy.

The alleged call for a coup in the nation was at the time the former MP made this statement.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) recently claimed that the military in Nigeria is content and that there are no plans for a coup.

The DHQ Director of Defence Information, Tukur Gusau, scoffed at accusations that the Nigerian military had welfare problems and added that the article in circulation was urging the military to meddle in the nation’s democracy.

On Monday, Sani called on his fellow citizens promoting, seeking, or encouraging a coup in the nation to halt via his Twitter account.

He believed that the democratic framework might still be used to win the battle for a more just, egalitarian, and affluent society.

Sani wrote, “Our democracy can still be redeemed or refined. The struggle for a just, equitable and more prosperous society can still be won within the context of democracy. Our Countrymen, pls stop advocating, soliciting or inciting for a coup in Nigeria.”
