General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB), the former military leader of state, has been characterised as an unwavering patriot by Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential contender.
He added that the former military dictator had a notable and significant influence on the socio-political and economic advancement of Nigeria.
The suggestion was made by Obi in a birthday greeting he sent to IBB on Thursday in honour of his 82nd birthday.

He continued by saying that, despite his advanced age, Babangida’s voice of wisdom in positions of leadership continues to be relevant, and he prayed to God for more joyous years to come.
