Abuja-Kaduna Railway Line: DSS Arrests Train Service Manager

Pascal Nnorli, Manager of the Abuja-Kaduna Kaduna Train Services, is said to have been detained by Department of State Services (DSS) agents.

According to information obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, Nnorli’s might not be unrelated to the release of a memo that warned of a potential terror assault on the Abuja-Kaduna railway.

Recall that on March 28, 2022, terrorists ambushed a train headed for Kaduna from Abuja, capturing a large number of passengers in the process. The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) was compelled by this incident to temporarily cease operations along the line.

Security Alert: coming Threat By A Coalition Of Banditry Syndicate To Attack Abuja-Kaduna Train Service Along AKTS Corridor, a leaked letter from the DSS signed by R.N. Adepemu, Director of FCT Command, advised train passengers to be especially careful over the coming attack.

The DSS stated that there was a “impending threat to seamless train transportation along the Abuja-Kaduna Train Service (AKTS),” and that a group of banditry syndicates was preparing to attack the Abuja-Kaduna train at any moment with the intention of kidnapping the passengers and holding them for ransom.

The manager, Victor Adamu, the operations manager, and other employees were all taken into custody, according to a reputable source within the Nigerian Railway Corporation, who spoke to The PUNCH.

Speaking on Sunday, the NRC source said, “Do you know that they have arrested our manager since last Thursday – the two of them, the operation manager and Pascal? But they have released one of them.

“Victor is a victim of circumstances because they met him in Pascal’s office, so they arrested him together with all Pascal’s staff and took them to the DSS office. Pascal is still there now.”

The letter, which contained critical information regarding the attack, was allegedly addressed to the Managing Director of the NRC, according to the source who stated that the arrest was most likely related to the leak of the DSS report.

The insider emphasised that the DSS had specifically warned that if the letter leaked, it might result in arrests.

“I couldn’t tell why they arrested them, but what I am hearing is they said one letter concerning this Abuja-Kaduna attack, they wrote one letter to our Managing Director, and it states clearly that if the letter leaks, it can lead to arrest and according to DSS it was Pascal’s office they dropped the letter and the letter leaked and went viral,” the source said.
