Lamidi Apapa: Shehu Sani Mocks PDP Over Handling of Alleged Inter-party Activity By Wike

Shehu Sani, a former federal legislator, has made fun of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for how it has handled the ongoing leadership issue inside the party.

Shehu compared the way the PDP handled its leadership issue to the strategy used by the Labour Party, LP, in its own predicament in a post on his social media site on Saturday.

Lamidi Apapa, a member of the Labour Party, would have received ice cream from the PDP, according to the social critic, if he had joined that party.

He wrote, “If Lamidi was in PDP, the party would have been petting him with ice cream.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, Lamidi Apapa and Julius Abure have been squabbling over the role of national chairperson in the Labour Party up until recently.

The controversy-filled suspension of Abure as the party’s national chairman was followed by the crisis.

When Justice Hamza Muazu of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) prohibited the party’s chairman and three other national executive members from disguising themselves as national officers of the party, the crisis took a judicial turn.

However, the Labour Party’s internal power struggle came to an end when the Court of Appeal, with its headquarters in Edo State’s capital city of Benin City, affirmed Abure as the party’s national chairman recently.

The PDP, on the other hand, has been under existential threat ever since former Rivers governor Nyesom Wike and four other governors, including some party leaders, conspired to defeat the party’s presidential nominee, Atiku Abubakar, before and after the 2023 general election.

While Wike has not yet formally renounced his PDP membership, President Bola Tinubu has named him Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, or FCT.
