Prior to the local government elections in Edo State on Monday, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for president in the 2023 election, joined hundreds of other party members for a massive rally.
Olumide Akpata, a recent addition to the party, who served as president of the Nigerian Bar Association, is also present.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Peter Obi arrived at the venue, which is the Edo Baptist Convention Ground.

The former governor of Anambra State was greeted by a sizable group of LP fans in the street, as seen in the videos posted online.
Another video demonstrates how Peter Obi was protected by security guards as locals crowded around to get a sight of him.

However, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are apparently putting the finishing touches on an alliance to overthrow the government.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the trio is considering the prospect of forming a coalition that would allow them to take a formidable stance against the APC.

Furthermore, it is acknowledged that the extent of their collaboration is still in its infancy, is being planned in stages, and will also depend on the resolution of the 2023 presidential election tribunal, in which President Bola Tinubu’s victory is being contested.
