Victor Ifakachukwu has been detained by the Edo State Police Command on suspicion of being a suspected Yahoo boy. He is accused of fatally stabbing his lover in Benin City.

According to information obtained by Anaedoonline.ng, the incident took place at 10 Osahon Street, Ogheghe Quarters, off Sapele Road, Benin.

On Monday, August 21, 2023, the suspect’s landlord, Emmanuel Momoh, reported the event to the police.

The couple is alleged to have barricaded themselves inside the residence when the violence started.

Due to the serious injuries he received during what appeared to be a fatal knife attack in his flat, the suspect was taken into custody and hospitalised.

A thorough investigation has been launched, according to SP Chidi Nwabuzor, spokesman for the Edo State Police Command, who verified the occurrence to the Nigerian Tribune. This is because two blood-stained knives, a laptop, two iPhones and a Nokia phone were found inside the flat.

According to the PPRO, the suspect is being closely watched at an unnamed hospital in the hopes that he would be able to confess to his crime once he regains consciousness.

He said, “When we arrived at the house, Omo, blood was flowing like water, I believe they started stabbing themselves when a quarrel erupted between them.

“I suspect something went wrong and the girl fought back with her last power. When the boy regains consciousness, he will tell us how many of them were in the house and what actually happened.”

Some security workers who assisted in the evacuation of the girl’s body claimed that no component of the deceased was missing.
