The launch of OPERATION SECURE ANAMBRA SOUTH in Nnewi South, Aguata, Orumba North, Orumba South, Ihiala, and Ekwusigo local government areas has been announced by Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, who represents Anambra South in the 10th Senate. This follows the successful completion of the OPERATION SECURE ANAMBRA SOUTH pilot scheme in Nnewi North LGA.
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah Gifts Security Operatives Vehicles In Anambra
The following will facilitate the plan:
1. 3400 solar-powered CCTV cameras will be installed in Anambra South.
2. 6500 walkie talkies have been placed throughout Anambra South.
3. 700 network jamming and tracking devices have been placed throughout Anambra South.
4. The installation of 1800 traffic barrier beams at the sites where main routes enter and leave local government regions.
5. Deployment of numerous patrol cars and motorcycles throughout the different Anambra South local government areas.
6. Local security agent recruitment, training, mobilisation, and deployment in every community across all local government regions.

7.With end-to-end secured toll-free call lines, emergency response and rescue teams will be sent to each local government area.
8. Installation of a media and data control centre in accordance with local law.
Operation Secure Anambra South was established a few months ago to address the serious security issues that plagued Anambra South.
The plan, which was the brainchild of Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (CON), was developed in direct response to the tragic murders, abductions, and other crimes that wracked the region.
The pilot programme was implemented in the Nnewi North local government area in an intentional effort to test out various reaction techniques, hone the senator’s anti-crime initiatives, and perfect the tactics required to secure the Anambra South Senatorial District.

The methodology used in the Nnewi North pilot programme proved to be a great success as crime has been brought under control. This effective model will be used and duplicated in the remaining six local government areas.
