Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made fun of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, his predecessor in Kano State, for not being chosen as a minister.

In a 28-second viral video, Ganduje charged that the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s (NNPP) 2023 presidential candidate supported the divisive Kano building demolitions.

The APC chairman claimed that Kwankwaso and his political godson, Kano Governor Abba Yusuf, could only vent their resentment by having buildings sanctioned by his administration demolished.

He claimed that Kwankwaso’s desperate attempt to become the next Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was obvious to President Bola Tinubu because of his intelligence.

The former governor of Kano state made these remarks on Monday when he met with some of his partisans and supporters from Kano state at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

According to Ganduje, Kwankwaso and Yusuf are erasing his legacy in the state by tearing down structures in the name of implementing Kano’s master plan.

Speaking in Hausa language, he said: “Is it not the FCT minister position that he wanted? That was why he demolished buildings in Kano under the guise that he wanted to defend the master plan. If you ask him what the master plan is, he can’t tell you.

“All you will hear is, ‘We will reset the Kano master plan. We have promised Kano people that we will demolish houses even if they are 1,000-storey buildings.’ Look, if an illiterate person does not know he is one, he is certainly blind. That is what befell him.”
