Following the military coup in Gabon a few days after the country’s 2023 presidential election, a number of reactions followed.

The military removed Ali Bongo, the president of Gabon, days after he had won the election, according to a previous article by Anaedoonline.ng.

The BBC reported that troops allegedly appeared on Gabonese national television to declare their seize of power.

The country’s democratically elected government was to be overthrown, along with the annulment of the elections held on Saturday.

In an election that the opposition said was highly contested, Bongo, who took office after the passing of his father in 2009, was elected for a third term.

Months after the military took over in the Niger Republic, some online users responded to the development by posting on the microblogging site X.
