As he turns 57 on Saturday, September 2, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima has pleaded with friends and well-wishers to alter the way his birthday is observed.
Shettima expressed his gratitude for the kind greetings he had gotten from friends and well-wishers over the years on his Twitter account.
The Vice President has requested that those who wish him a happy birthday not advertise for him in newspapers or on any other paid media.

Shettima urged Nigerians to commemorate his birthday in a unique and significant way by pointing to the nation’s dedication to responsible resource management and responsive governance.

He said, “Dear friends and well-wishers, Greetings to you all. As we approach the anniversary of my birth on September 2nd, I am utterly grateful for the warm wishes and kind sentiments that many of you have expressed over the years. Your thoughtfulness has touched my heart and has been a source of immense joy.
