In a ceremony full of pomp and ceremony, the 16th Headies Awards took place on Sunday at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, USA.

Celebrating African Renaissance was the theme of the event, which was hosted by Terrence J. and Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro.

With their spectacular performances, Odumodublvck, Young Jonn, Wande Coal, Kcee, Black Sherif, Asake, and others enthralled the crowd.

Rema took home the Best Male Artist of the Year honour, while Asake, who won the highly coveted Next Rated category, walked away with a brand-new automobile.

The same thing happened to Odumodublvck after he was chosen Rookie of the Year: he got a house in Lagos.

After much debate on social media, Director K received the prize for Best Music Video of the Year instead of Blaqbonez or TG Omori.

Blaqbonez asserted that “TG Omori and I are still the best directors” as he accepted his Best Rap Album of the Year title, which he won for “The Young Preacher.”

Rema won three trophies in total—Best Male Artiste of the Year, Digital Artiste of the Year, and African Artiste of the Year—and overall took first place.
