Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 elections, has encouraged the candidates for the Labour Party (LP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, to accept defeat before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
He requested that President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) be congratulated by both Atiku and Obi.
Adebayo claimed that both Obi and Atiku submitted feeble petitions in his remarks on Wednesday regarding the presidential tribunal’s pending ruling in the lawsuits contesting Tinubu’s victory in the elections of February 25 as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The SDP candidate made it seem as though he was unsurprised by the developments at the tribunal.
Taking to the X platform, formely known as Twitter, Adebayo wrote: “I am not supposed to gloat that I told you so. Today’s judgments dismissing weak petitions are sound in fact and law, in substance, procedures, and conform to the Constitution, Electoral Act and established precedents.
