JUST IN: CIA, DEA, Others To Release Files On Tinubu

According to reports, the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) have declared plans to begin providing papers about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that are stored in their databases.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have also indicated their willingness to send up thousands of pages of Tinubu-related information in the upcoming weeks, according to Peoples Gazette.

For the first time, according to the journal, it is anticipated that the files would provide answers to queries regarding the Nigerian president’s first entry into the country, the name under which he did so, and subsequent run-ins with law police.

This follows the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) announcement that the records would be made public beginning in October and at a rate of 500 pages each month.

The FBI identified a total of over 2500 pages as potentially responsive to FOIA requests 1553430-00 and 1587544-000, according to a status report filed on September 11 at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C.

The FBI anticipates processing 500 documents every month, with the first release occurring by the end of October 2023.

In accordance with a freedom of information request that was initially filed in 2022, the FBI initially displayed reluctance to turn over the documents.
