UPDATE: Sanwo-Olu Invites DSS To Join Mohbad’s Death Investigation

The Department of State Services, DSS, has been requested to participate in the inquiry into the death of musician Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, nicknamed Mohbad, who died in a contentious manner on September 12, 2023, according to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

According to Anaedoonline.ng, the authorities have already started looking into the singer’s death.

In a recent statement posted on his Instagram page, Governor Sanwo-Olu said that he had also invited the DSS to assist the police in their probe.

The statement partly read, “I would like to assure everyone that I am not oblivious to the sad passing of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Imole Aloba (Mohbad). We have been closely working behind the scenes with relevant authorities, and following keenly the ongoing investigations.

“However, in order to boost the investigations, I have invited the Department of State Services (DSS) to join the investigation and widen the dragnet with inter-agency collaboration and use of best in class technology to unearth the truth.

“I have instructed that all those who may have played any role or whatsoever in any event leading to the death of Mohbad to be made to face the law after a thorough investigation.”

The Governor begged anybody with crucial information to come forward to help the inquiry while expressing sympathy to the deceased’s family and friends.

He assured maximum protection for witnesses “who may come forward with vital information or indicative evidence that may assist the process.”

He added that the “Police and DSS have been admonished to brief the public on their efforts periodically.”
