Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu Extends Apology to Governor Obaseki in Public Address

After a prolonged feud, Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, offered a heartfelt apology to his superior, Governor Godwin Obaseki, during an event where he was officially invested by the Catholic Men Organisation Nigeria (CMN). The apology, made in a public setting, signifies a potential reconciliation between the two political figures.

Obaseki Cries Out Over Fear of Coup Plot From Deputy, Shaibu

Shaibu’s apology came shortly after the investiture ceremony, where he implored Governor Obaseki to forgive and forget past grievances. He also revealed that he had adhered to the governor’s directive by relocating to his new office, although there were still pending tasks to complete at the new location, situated at 7 Osadebey Avenue.

When questioned about his resumption at the new office, Shaibu acknowledged the move but emphasized that there was ongoing work to be done. He reiterated his unwavering loyalty to the governor and expressed his desire for the rekindling of their once-strong working relationship.

In his statement, Shaibu highlighted his commitment to serving the governor and the state, emphasizing his genuine intentions and clean heart. He acknowledged any past mistakes he might have made and extended a plea to Governor Obaseki for forgiveness. The deputy governor expressed his optimism for the re-establishment of their collaborative efforts in developing the state.
