In response to the Enugu Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal’s decision, the Labour Party (LP) has spoken out.

The LP had accused Peter Mbah, a PDP candidate, of overvoting, forging NYSC certificates, and bypassing the BVAS.

However, the panel dismissed the complaints and insisted that Mbah had been legitimately elected.

However, LP declared that it would appeal the tribunal’s decision to the Appeal Court.

The party claims that the panel mishandled justice and that the verdict cannot stand.

“We are worried about the level of degeneration in our judiciary where ridiculous rulings are frequently churned out from the hallowed temple of justice,” the party said in a statement signed by its National Chairman, Barr Julius Abure.

“Our case before the tribunal was a clear case of electoral robbery,” it said.
