Exhumation of Mohbad’s Body Completed, Autopsy To Commence – Police Reveals

The late musician and songwriter Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, had his body exhumed, according to the Lagos State Police Command.

According to earlier news reports, the police and a few health authorities started exhuming Mohbad’s body on Thursday.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police, verified the exhumation to Daily Trust over the phone.

He said, “The exhumation is currently ongoing. We have here a team of health officials from the state ministry of health led by CP Owohunwa. The CP is also expected to visit Mohbad’s father later in the day.”

The Lagos PRO, however, has used X former Twitter to declare that the exercise is over.

He posted: “Exhumation completed. Autopsy to commence. #JusticeForMohad #Justice4Mohbad.”

Recall that the 27-year-old artist passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The popular musician’s passing sparked outrage across the board, with Nigerians accusing his ex-boss Naira Marley and music marketer Sam Larry of being to blame.

Due to this, many Nigerians have come to the streets in Lagos, Ogun, and other parts of the nation to demand justice and to urge the police to find his perpetrators.

After Mohbad passed away, the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, requested a forensic examination to determine the cause of death.

Idowu Owohunwa, the commissioner of police in Lagos State, created a ten-person team, including a pathologist, in response to the IGP’s order to exhume and investigate Mohbad’s death.
