Popular Nigerian musician Mohbad’s passing has compelled some of the nation’s top radio stations and music channels to ban Marlian music.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the departed Afrobeat singer passed away on Tuesday, September 13, in a way that angered fans, celebrities, and other notable individuals.
This is in response to social media posts regarding savage assaults that were reportedly committed by employees of his old label, Marlian Music, which is run by Naira Marley.
Mohbad: Another Radio Station Bans Naira Marley’s Songs
Radio stations like Splash FM in Ibadan, Oyo State and Fresh FM in Ado, Ekiti State have put a ban on Naira Marley songs in all of their stations until further notice in response to the harassment and attack the deceased musician endured from his previous label.
Naira Marley songs have also been permanently outlawed by the administration of Ebonyi Broadcasting Television (EBT), along with the immediate removal of Marley records from their studio.
Marlian Records has also been removed from the airwaves of Invicta FM.
One of the statement issued reads: “In the light of current details from the death of popular singer, Mohbad, Invicta 98.9 Fm have stopped to give airtime to any song by any artist from Naira Marley record label.”
Additionally, radio stations like Island FM, Okin FM, Divine FM, and Agidigbo will no longer play Naira Marley’s music.

Malian playlists have been eliminated from the studios of renowned music networks like MTV Base and Soundcity.
