In a solemn pursuit of justice, the Abia Police Command has undertaken to diligently investigate and bring to justice those responsible for the brutal murder of Mr. Chigbu Chigozie, a 65-year-old resident of Umumba Nsirimo, Ubakala, Umuahia South Local Government Area.
The tragic incident, which unfolded on the morning of September 21, 2023, sent shockwaves through the community. At around 8 AM, the Ubakala Police Division in Abia State received a distressing report concerning a lifeless body discovered in the compound of one Mr. Chigbu.
The victim, later identified as Mr. Chigbu Chigozie, was found lying in a pool of blood, bearing multiple machete wounds to his head. Tragically, Mr. Chigbu had succumbed to his injuries and was confirmed deceased.
In response to the distressing incident, the police swiftly acted. Officers visited the crime scene, collecting crucial evidence and capturing photographs to aid in the investigation. The victim’s body was transported to the mortuary, where it will undergo an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation.
