Police Promise To Rescue Zamfara Kidnapped Students

On Sunday, the Zamfara Police Command told the populace that security personnel were working to free the remaining Federal University of Gusau students who had been abducted.

This information was provided in a statement made in Gusau by ASP Yazid Abubakar, the command’s police public relations officer.
Numerous students from the Federal University in Gusau, both male and female, have recently been abducted by criminals.

The statement claims that on September 22 at around 0250 hours, armed suspects broke into rented student residences in the Sabongida neighborhood close to the university.

“Unfortunately, the bandits kidnapped an unspecified number of students to an unknown destination.
“The search and rescue operations by the command, in collaboration with the security operatives yielded a positive result of rescuing 7 out of the kidnapped victims.

“The rescued victims have been reunited with the management of the university.”
The PPRO appealed to the general public to remain calm, as “the command in collaboration with other security agencies are making efforts to rescue the remaining students from the kidnappers.”

Meanwhile, the state Police Commissioner, Muhammad Dalijan, visited the scene of the incident and put some measures in place to avoid the reoccurrence of the incident.
