NLC, TUC Declare Indefinite Strike From October 3

The Nigerian Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) have both declared an indefinite strike that will begin on October 3.

Nigerians have been advised to stockpile food by the two labor centers since the strike will halt all business operations there.
After their respective Emergency National Executive Council, NEC, meetings on Tuesday in Abuja, the Presidents of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, and the TUC, Festus Osifo, made this announcement.

Ajaero Becomes New NLC New President

According to the communique read by the two Presidents, the indefinite strike was as a result of the alleged insensitivity of government to the plights of Nigerians as a result of the removal of petrol subsidy and continuous demonstration of unwillingness and complete lack of initiative.
