Police Arrest Notorious Cultist, 18 Others In Ogun

Ogunnibi Hammed, the leader of the Eiye Confraternity and a prominent cultist, has been detained by police in Ogun State.The Guardian learned that the cultist in Ogun State who was notorious for his involvement in horrific crimes against rival cult organizations was killed on September 24 as a result of a tactical operation by the Command.

The arrest was the product of a coordinated operation involving the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) squad, the Anti-Cultism Unit (AKU), and the Obalende Division of the police, according to Superintendent of Police Omolola Odutola, who verified the event yesterday.

She said: “Acting on intercepted information, the operation targeted suspected cultists, who had been causing terror in various areas, including Odogbolu, Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, and Ilishan.

“Among those apprehended were Sodipo Azeez, also known as Bintobo, Ilori Gbenga, Lamina Yusuf, Kolawole Rasaq, Adelaja Otusanya, Adeyemi Soneye, Oseni Toheeb, ThankGod Naba, Lekan Qudus, Adelusi Omotayo, Timothy Monday, Ayomide Ishmael, Oboje Jeremiah, Ayoola Oladayo, Jacob Chidi, John Innocent, Ayangbile Victor, and Jacob Sunday.”

“All of these individuals have confessed to being active members of different cult groups.
“The Commissioner of Police has ordered an immediate investigation into the individuals apprehended.

“As the investigation progresses, the police will provide updates to the public regarding any relevant developments in this case,” she said.
