In the ongoing investigation into the untimely death of the Nigerian music sensation, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, a significant development has emerged. The Coroner’s inquest, responsible for delving into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s passing, has scheduled October 13, 2023, as the date for witnesses to present their testimonies.

The Coroner’s proceedings took place at the Magistrate court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, as reported by BBC Pidgin. During the session, Funmi Falana, who served as the legal representative for Mohbad’s family, and other lawyers, engaged in closed-door discussions to determine the procedural aspects of the upcoming evidence hearings.

After the confidential proceedings, Funmi Falana addressed journalists outside Candide Johnson’s court, shedding light on the purpose and objectives of the day. She stated, “What we did today was to decide how and when the procedures would help get justice. The date has been fixed, and we will be bringing our witnesses.”

Falana, echoing the sentiments of Mohbad’s grieving family and devoted fans, reassured the public that justice would be served in this tragic case. She emphasized, “We are representing the interest of justice, we should allow peace to reign but justice must be served. We are going to get to the cause of the death.”

The Coroner’s inquest marks a crucial step in uncovering the truth behind the artist’s demise and ensuring that justice prevails. As the investigation proceeds, the eyes of many will remain focused on the proceedings, awaiting answers and closure in the wake of Mohbad’s passing.
